Web Publishing

Virtual Reality Modelling Language (VRML) is designed for building three-dimensional, interactive presentations (virtual worlds) which are accessible through the World Wide Web. Currently it is the official ISO standard for 3D on the web (it's a 3D analog to HTML).

Vitruvian Studio allows you to prepare 3D scene for publishing on the web and view them in all major VRML browsers. We recommend Cortona , BS Contact and Octaga.

One of the saving options of Vitruvian Studio is Publish With All Resources. This simple action allows one to save the VRML file of the scene and in the meantime to group all the resources files (textures, images, inlines) into an only folder. Place the file (.wrl) and its resources on a directory of a web server for real time streaming over the Internet (for example www.anyware.com/mymodel.wrl)

Remarks

- Note that for web publishing is necessary to name each single file (VRML files, textures, ...) with small letters.

- The quickness of real time streaming of VRML data over the Internet depends on the type of connection (very few seconds with ADSL) as well as on the size of the files. Consider that for real time web 3D visualization it is not necessary to use heavy textures. For example each original texture of the ArchiCAD Library can be reduced up to 5-10 kb (with image editors), maintaining the same visual quality.
